Jeremy Snow
TEDxNashville is Wired for Women
Jeremy Snow is the president of TEDxNashville, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Under his leadership, TEDxNashville has blossomed into a dynamic platform for bold ideas—sparking creativity, fostering meaningful conversations, and building strong community connections. TEDxNashville now includes two signature events TEDxNashville Women and the flagship TEDxNashville, as well as spotlight events, dinner and more.
What Brought Jeremy Snow to TEDx?
Jeremy’s path to TEDxNashville was far from traditional. After moving to Nashville in 2009 to pursue a master’s degree in theology at Vanderbilt and run a construction company, he discovered TEDxNashville by chance at an event help at TPAC. Captivated by the energy and the quality of the talks, he decided to get involved as a volunteer, initially writing blog posts for the organization.
Without any prior experience in public speaking, Jeremy soon stepped into the role of speaker coach. That willingness to dive in and contribute laid the foundation for his eventual rise to president of TEDxNashville. His journey is a testament to the power of curiosity, community, and embracing opportunities.
Celebrating the Voices That Make TEDxNashville Unique
What makes TEDxNashville stand out is its focus on everyday people—not just celebrities—who bring fresh, engaging ideas to the stage. Jeremy often highlights speakers like Michael Brody-Waite, whose powerful talk on addiction challenged conventional thinking. Michael shared how the very struggles people often fear or resent can be transformed into leadership strengths by applying recovery principles in business. Now a coach himself, Michael is set to appear at TEDxNashville’s upcoming event, *Addictive Leadership*, on July 8th.
Growing and Engaging a Thriving Women’s Audience
TEDxNashville is popular with women. Sometimes events have up to 90% female attendance and participation. Though not all events are explicitly marketed as women-only events, women naturally emerge as the driving force behind participation, volunteers, and community building, contributing invaluable support and leadership. Jeremy recognizes this dynamic as key to the organization’s growth and vibrancy.
Membership and Community Building
TEDxNashville’s reach extends far beyond its marquee conferences. While large events generate headline talks, smaller workshops and gatherings throughout the year serve as the heartbeat of the community. These informal events—often featuring great food and conversation—are typically free and warmly invite attendees, whom TEDxNashville calls “members,” to connect and grow.
