Bringing Folx to the Table

Meet Emma McCallie, a passionate entrepreneur on a mission to make friendship easier and more meaningful. As the Co-Founder of Folx Table, she’s reimagining the way adults connect—one dinner table at a time. Folx Table is the first-ever Sit-Down Social Network, a platform that transforms small talk into deep conversation by connecting strangers over curated in-person experiences across Nashville.

In 2022, Emma began experimenting with dinner parties for strangers—searching for the perfect blend of structure, conversation, and atmosphere to turn introductions into real connection. That series of thoughtful gatherings eventually evolved into Folx Table, co-founded with Dallas Condra and officially launched in fall 2023.

Emma is redefining how we form relationships in adulthood. By blending intentional design with the natural rhythms of human interaction, she’s building a brand that makes connecting with others feel less awkward—and a lot more fun.

What is Folx Table—and how does it work?

Folx Table was born from a shared realization: making friends as an adult is unexpectedly hard—and more complicated than it needs to be. Emma and her team are determined to change that. At its core, Folx Table is about intentional in-person connection. While often described as a “sit-down social network,” Emma sees it as something more: a thoughtfully designed space where people can build real friendships, engage in meaningful conversations, and enjoy the social life they’ve been craving—without the pressure or pretense.

From Educator to Entrepreneur: Why the Leap?

Emma’s background in education and public service laid the perfect foundation for tackling deeply personal problems on a larger scale. In the classroom, she saw that every child needs a great teacher—but every child learns differently. The same principle, she believes, applies to adult friendships: everyone needs connection, but we all experience it differently.

That mindset—deep empathy combined with a systems-thinking approach—informs her work at Folx Table. She’s not just creating opportunities for conversation; she’s designing a scalable framework for authentic connection. For Emma, the most rewarding part of entrepreneurship has been solving for the beautiful complexity of human relationships.

Making Community that Feels Organic Again

So, how does Folx Table bring people together? It starts with the user. When someone joins the platform, they complete a set of thoughtful questions—ones that go beyond surface-level personality tests to uncover social rhythms, preferences, and friendship goals. The goal is to match people not just by who they are, but by how they live socially.

Accessibility and inclusivity are core to the Folx Table ethos. Whether someone is vegan, gluten-free, on a budget, or navigating social anxiety, there’s a space—and a seat at the table—for them. Emma and her team are committed to removing barriers to connection and creating experiences where people feel seen, safe, and ready to be themselves.

Folx Table isn’t just about dinner. It’s about reimagining the role of community in our lives—and proving that with the right setting and a little structure, strangers really can become friends.
